K-ON!

I absolutely loved watching K-ON! It is such an amazing anime and now I get why it’s receiving much love and approval. :) It’s fun, entertaining, amusing and gives off school days nostalgia.

Honestly, I feel quite envious of the girls. They seem to have heaps of fun every day after school—hanging around together while enjoying cakes, pastries and tea.

All of the characters, in my opinion, are lovable. They all complement one another so well. Ritsu, being quite loud and quirky makes a great drummer. Though, to think that she’s originally the one who’s all enthusiastic with having a band with Mio then performing at Budokan, she slacks off most of the time. :p Mio, for someone who was just “forced” into the club and band seems more serious with having their skills improved and practicing for their up-coming performances. Mio plays more of the leader, although she’s a scaredy-cat and doesn’t really like to be on the spotlight—which is also the reason for her choosing to play the bass instead of the lead guitar. Tsumugi, who joined in because the light music club looks fun, is also one interesting character. She’s great with the keyboard, seeing that she’s played the piano since a young age and has even won several prizes for it. She’s rich but finds joy in doing normal stuff with her friends. Well, who wouldn’t? I mean, even if it’s simply lying down the grass and watching the clouds go by, so long as you’re with people you love to be with, it’s absolutely fun. :) Thinking about it now, maybe Tsumugi is the main reason for the club slacking off so much. After all, she’s the one who makes tea and brings in all the yummy cakes and pastries. :p Yui, the lead guitarist and main vocals, is amazing. To be honest, I think I’m most envious of her character. She may be totally average at first glance, not to mention clumsy and is pretty much an air-head, but she rocks with playing the guitar. Especially if you’d put into consideration that she only began playing after joining the club. Moreover, she has an absolute pitch. Such a lucky girl. XD Anyways, she’s really great once she puts all her might into it. Though the down side of it is she focuses too much on it that her other skills and/or knowledge deteriorates. :p The last and youngest member of the light music club, Asuza is also a nice character. She came in later and I had apprehensions if she’d be an annoying addition. Good thing, she’s not. :) She plays the rhythm guitar. Having both of her parents as jazz band members, she plays very well. At first, she’s very bothered with the other members being very lazy with practice, but eventually gives in to the temptation of fun and tea time. Anyways, what matters is that they do not get lose sight of their goal to someday play live at Budokan and they always do good in their performances. :) Besides, it’s never wrong to have fun. One must take advantage of youth and all the free time they can get. Oh how I wish to get back to those days. >.< Ui, Yui’s younger but mature, thoughtful and talented sister and Nodoka, Yui’s childhood friend who’s part of the student council, are also great characters. :) Plus, the club’s pretty but crazy adviser, Sawa-chan. :D Sawa-chan was actually the one to come up with the band’s name—Hoka-go Ti Taimu [after school tea time]. Very fitting. :)

K-ON! is a light and comedic anime about a group of young girls that got bound by music, having fun every day after school. It’s a great watch, having the audience relate to some of the happenings and characters—a slice of life. It’s somehow a relaxing watch.

It makes me wish to learn how to play the guitar more... and miss all the precious time I once had with friends at school. :)
