I've actually read "The Zahir" and "The Guardian" around August. They were both good reads for me in different ways and I've almost forgotten that I made a reflection sort of type of review for "The Zahir".
Here it is:
"Forget your personal history."
At first it did not make sense to me since I thought almost everybody wants to know who they really are--their purpose, to have something to refer to or look back to and memories to share and cherish--and for all these, I think having a personal history is necessary.
But as I read on, I believe I somehow grasped what forgetting your personal history meant. It is the continuous building of oneself. It is what makes us see and enjoy better the beauty of life. For it makes you feel and relish everything as if it's the first time--everything is always new.
Life is an adventure. Perhaps, that is also why I enjoy experiencing something new. It feels nourishing and revitalizing.
Don't live in the past or entirely for the future. Live for and in the moment. Stop paranoia and unnecessarily complicating situations.
Though while these all sound so nice, I must admit that I have to work on a lot if i want to achieve it.
"Don't live in the past or entirely for the future. Live for and in the moment. Stop paranoia and unnecessarily complicating situations. "
