Boyong's, the challenging conquering

This past few months, I seem to be more indulgent with food. I don't know if it's due to all the stress coming from work or just my innate gluttonous side climbing up another level; but either way, I'm craving for food and trying out new tastes more than usual. Thus, my new past time is to look up and read food blogs.

As of now I am focused with a particular food blog since it's centered with restaurants and eateries and snack places around Marikina, my hometown. [ Marikina Food Trip ]  

This August, I tried one of the places reviewed by said blog--Boyong's.



I was so excited with trying it that amidst all the busy-ness with work, I can't take it out of my mind. My older sister--being kind enough to humor me--suggested that we just have it delivered since all the work is preventing is from getting anywhere else. But woe is us. Trying delivery turned out to be A BIG FAIL.

We first tried calling at around 9am [wednesday at work, yes my sister and i work at the same place], thinking that we'll just ask for it to be delivered just in time for our lunch break. But the guy my sister got to talk to seems to be still in la-la land. After getting annoyed and stuff, my sister told me that we need to call back after 2 hours. Since she's already annoyed, I told her I'd be the one to make the call. My first call went pretty well. The lady on the other line gave me a different number to call, saying that it's the number assigned for burgers and pastas. I confirmed with the lady that they do offer deliveries. But when I called the given number, the oh-so mellowed voiced lady told me that they do not deliver. A BIG FAIL.

You know how when something goes terribly wrong, you just feel so down so instead of feeling all angry or depressed you feel empty instead? It felt that way for me.

Anyways, that weekend I met up with some friends and being the great friends they are, agreed to hunt down and conquer Boyong's with me.

Boyong's turned out to be quite hard to find, since it's not really along highways. Plus, it's just a small eatery. So if you do not know about it or not so conscious with what you are passing through, you might miss it. Good thing one of my friends used to live near the area. Though it's also her first time really seeing the place and trying the food there.

I'm not a fan of linguine pasta so that may have affected my taste buds a little bit. But the pastas do taste good. Plus, the menu is affordable and the serving is just right to make you feel full.

I'm glad I tried their food. I'll go back there again to try their other pastas when I get the chance.
